A Girl for Me

Posted By Twyla on April 13, 2008 @ 11:46 am

One thing that I really like about baby bedding more now, than when I had my first child six years ago, is that it is much more versatile and there is a better selection than I had with my first child.  I really like the set that I got my daughter much more than the one I had for my son.

Another thing I learned, is that it is a lot more fun to shop for a little girl clothes than it was to shop for little boy clothes.  I don’t know why they can’t make nice little boy clothes, and I was so excited to be able to buy the frilly pink dresses finally.

It was also exciting for me to be able to buy the little girl toys as I was a little tired of trucks and airplanes.  I am a very girly girl myself and was excited to be able to buy dollies, strollers and anything in pink - it will be nice to play with girl toys again.

Wholesale Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend

Posted By Twyla on March 13, 2008 @ 7:21 pm

There is only one thing to be said about having a wedding in August. It’s hot and muggy and you must plan for this very thing. For instance, when I had my August wedding, I was not really thinking about the fact that my hair could turn to complete frizz in the humidity. Luckily for me, my hairdresser was way ahead of me on that.

Even though it was hot and muggy, our wedding was completely perfect and completely beautiful. I was not allowed to see the diamond wedding ring before the wedding and when I finally got to wear it on my finger, it was absolutely stunning. It was so perfect and it was totally me. But then, Jordan knew that when he picked it out for me. That is just the kind of guy he is.

It was so stunning that I was not sure how he had been able to afford this without my knowing it. We are pretty open with all of our finances. When I questioned him about it, he told me that he had found the best place for wholesale diamond jewelry and with prices like what he bought the ring for, I was sure to be getting a lot of jewelry in the future. This I could live with.

Office Furniture Shopping on a Monday

Posted By Misty Mountain on March 10, 2008 @ 7:25 pm

I find the best time to shop for office furniture is Monday morning.  Most people and companies really haven’t recovered from the weekend enough to be very productive Monday morning.  So, most companies do not send their staff out to buy any office furniture usually until later in the week.

This means that the office supply store is usually pretty quiet.  Instead of feeling rushed, you can take your time and even try each of the office chairs on sale if you want.  There are no people trying to make you move faster, and the sales staff are definitely more friendly.

Monday is also a great day for the shoppers that are looking for home office furniture in terms of delivery.  If you order on Monday, you can typically expect your purchases to be shipped to you before the weekend.

So, give office furniture shopping on a Monday a try.  It is the perfect chance to get all your questions answered, and have a quiet, peaceful shopping trip.

Shopping With Dad

Posted By Twyla on March 4, 2008 @ 10:03 am

1204196839_skid_steer_tire I was shopping with my dad the other day. Shopping with my dad is not one of the most fun experiences in life, as we must hit every hardware and auto parts store in existence. I can shop with him all day and not see a single thing that I want to buy. Does that not sound like fun? It is really tedious and boring. The funny thing is that he really thinks we enjoy it.

We were in an auto parts store and he was really excited at the good prices on skid steer tires. He was super excited to be able to stock up and you could tell that he was really trying to get me excited, too. But, I really do not know how to get excited over such things. I was happy for him and his deals, but I wanted to hit a clothing store, electronics store, or any store that I would be interested in the products.

When I went around the corner and saw that the skid steer tracks were on clearance, I had to roll my eyes. This would be what our conversation entailed for the rest of the day and I was not looking forward to it. I could not, however, bring myself to making him avoid this section.

Thank goodness it was almost lunch time.

Out at the Store

Posted By Misty Mountain on March 3, 2008 @ 8:48 am

I don’t like to go out and shop at the mall very much.  I find going out to shop pretty much a waste of time.  When I do go, I make sure I know which store that I am going to, what I am going to buy, and that is all I get.  I don’t waste my time shopping around.

But today, it didn’t quite work out for me.  You see, I went to pickup a Levitra prescription for my father that he had called for in advance.  The idea was that I could just go there, pick it up, and leave.  Unfortunately, there was a mix up, and I had to wait for it.

While I was waiting, I tried to find something to take up my time.  But since browsing was new to me, I had a tough time.  Not even five minutes after I found I had to wait, I was bored.

In what seemed like an eternity, I waited for my name to be called.  As soon as I could pick it up, I was out of there.  It will be awhile before I venture out to shop again - I just hate it.

Talk About Cheap Electronics From India At Interweb

Posted By Misty Mountain on February 14, 2008 @ 1:03 pm

There are a number of forums that I am a member of that I like to participate in the conversation.  You can find me online discussing everything from cooking to computers - there are a broad number of topics that I am interested in.

I participate the most at a mobile forum talking about the latest gadgets that are on the market.  All I can say is that I am a big fan of these “toys” and have found myself buying them on a consistent basis.

They are not cheap.

Now, I have been trying to find a better place to buy these gadgets online - something that would let me buy more without breaking the bank.

While on the forums the other day, someone was talking about a store called “Gadget India” where they buy all their electronics - at low prices.  Intrigued, I checked out the India gadget store, and I was surprised at the pricing - not only would I save more, but I could buy more gadgets with the money I saved.

So, I have placed an order - and if the transaction goes well, I think I will be buying more gadgets from India.  If not for the forums I participate, I would never have found the opportunities I have.

Welcome to the 21st Century

Posted By Misty Mountain on January 21, 2008 @ 5:48 pm

Seems like just yesterday, it was 1997.  Okay, it has been a little longer than I thought since I purchased some furniture, and with the recent comments from my friends, it is time for a change.  You see, I have had about ten bad comments in the past week that my furniture is old and outdated and that I should get some modern furniture to update the look of my place.

It has been over ten years since I stepped into a furniture store, and I was in for a shock.  You see, none of the contemporary furniture bore any resemblance to what I had at home - it was sleeker and nicer than the brown furniture I had at home.

I especially noticed the difference between the contemporary bedroom furniture compared to the hulking steel bed frame and wood dressers I had at home.  The newer furniture seemed to give off a welcoming vibe, whereas what I had at home was just scary.

I found myself buying furniture for most of the rooms in my home.  Perhaps the most memorable part of the whole shopping trip was the comment that the salesman made to me after I told him my story of what I had at home.  He said: “Welcome to the 21st century.”

Always Looking For A Bargain

Posted By Twyla on January 19, 2008 @ 11:01 pm

Have you ever gone to a store where there was nothing for sale? It is a real bummer. Most stores have at least one sale rack. I went to one such clothing store and had the worst time. If you know me at all, I am the world’s biggest bargain hunter.

I am noted in my circle of friends for getting digital media at a super price, when everyone else was paying top dollar for theirs. It is all in the knowing where to shop, and that clothing store certainly wouldn’t be seeing my presence again.

A lot of the great deals I get, I find online. If you are looking for something in particular, do a free search on that item and you will be amazed at some of the prices available to you. Especially of you take the time to look through many listings.

I like to save my great bargains in my archives, so I can go back to those websites occasionally and see if they have any more sweet deals.

In-Home Jewelry Party

Posted By Twyla on January 16, 2008 @ 8:52 pm

I was recently invited to an in-home party that was selling designer jewelry. I had never been to one before, but felt obligated to attend to help out a friend of mine. I had pretty low expectations and told myself I would have to find something cheap, just because I don’t like going to these things and not buying anything.

Surprisingly, I was very much impressed with both the quality and the prices of the jewelry. I ended up buying a few pieces of luxury jewelry and I have to admit that they are some of the nicest pieces that I own. They may very well also be the less costly pieces I own.

I am now planning to host my own in-home party with the same company. I would like the opportunity to purchase a few more pieces of the unique designer jewelry for my collection. I don’t have a huge collection, but it is nice having some choices when I am getting ready to go out for the evening.

Simple Stainless Steel Jewelry

Posted By Misty Mountain on January 15, 2008 @ 10:53 am

Yesterday I was unfortunate enough to lose my ring that I have had in my possession for years.  It was the ring I received when I graduated from high school.  I have been wearing it for more than ten years, and my hand feels really weird without it.  I am a bit short on cash, so I have been looking for an inexpensive replacement for it.

When talking to my friends, one of them suggested that I could get a cheap replacement from one of the many wholesale stainless steel jewelry stores online.  I thought that it would be a great place to start, and I went to a search engine and did a search on "stainless steel jewelry wholesale".

I was surprised to find many sites on the subject, so I decided to check out quite a few of them.  After about an hour, I found the perfect piece of stainless steel jewelry that would be the perfect replacement: it was a ring with knives on it.

All I have to do now is wait - it should be at my door in about a week.  I can’t wait.
