I am always looking for new ways to promote my website and I try to keep up with the latest technology, but there are so many people out there that know so much more than me. I will admit that I have come a long way in the past year, but there is still so much that I can learn and want to learn.
While looking for ideas to help promote my website, I came across an article about video ads. The article explained that by placing video ads on your website, you can hold the customer’s attention long enough to make the sale and this is exactly what I wanted to be able to do.
I think that the videos will definitely brighten up the site and make it seem more interesting. They also make the site seem like it was created by someone who really knew what they were doing, which is ironic because I am such an amateur. I decided to buy some of these ads and I think they have made a big difference. Now, I must continue on my journey to find out what is new and exciting in the world of website promotion.
I had to register a domain name before I started a new site. But after I had the name it just took me a couple of days to get all the content setup for the site. Now I just have one thing left to do: promote it.
Unfortunately for me, I don’t have a lot of time to spend on the website marketing aspect of building a website, and I really don’t know where to start. I have made a site or two in the past, but in all honesty, they sure didn’t perform very well.
So, I have hired an advertising company as a consultant and contractor for my website marketing strategy. I figured that I could rely both on their experience and man power to get some traction for my new site quickly.
I also want to avoid the pitfalls of promoting your site too quickly, and I am sure that they will be able to advise me of what I should do. I can already see visitors coming to my site, and I have made a sale or two, so I am very happy with my decision.
With the number of websites on the Internet, quite often as a webmaster you find yourself competing with hundreds or sometimes thousands of others to get a good search engine ranking. I don’t know about you, but if you have ever tried to do link building on your own, it is tough. Not only do you have to make a commitment to work on it every day, but it is a big time commitment as well. Even with semi-automated tools, you might find yourself spending a lot of time sitting at your computer promoting your sites instead of working on your business.
It took me awhile to realize that my time would be better spent elsewhere: building new content as opposed to doing directory submissions. It was at that point that I decided to find an SEO firm that would take care of the link building for me - and let me focus on what is important: building the business.
After checking out a number of companies, I found one that I was happy with: SubmitEdge.com. Not only did they provide outstanding service, their prices were very reasonable - and in my budget. Now, I can build more sites and be sure that they and edge over my competition - by not having to worry about promoting them anymore.
I was contacted by the website advisor for the company that I own about promoting our company’s website. I listened to what he had to say and thought that the site was not there to make money, but more to draw in potential clients. Then I got to thinking, if there was a way for the site to make money as well, why wouldn’t we take up that opportunity?
He suggested that keyword research was one way to go about getting more traffic. The more keywords we had listed, the more traffic we would get. That made sense and I could think of thousands of keywords to use for our company.
He explained the many SEO services that were available to help get our website onto the top of search engines and it all really made sense when he explained it. I told him that he was a very valuable employee and thanked him profusely for bringing to the table, ideas for the company to make more money.
We also decided that he would look into article sites and see if there was any profit to be gained from these. It is nice to see that some employees are still loyal these days and I hope we never lose him.
In order to better promote my online business, I decided to use some article marketing. That is, I wanted articles about all of the topics pertaining to my business and I wanted them to link to my sites.
Internet marketing is a little bit tricky, as there are so many options available and there are also so many people out there who would love to scam you. It is best to be informed before sending any payments via the Internet.
I find the online media to be a good resource for reviews on who to trust and who not to trust. Reviews are definitely the way to go. Look at the feedback of a person or company before making a decision. Feedback tells you a lot about the person.
I know that there are some wonderful article marketing companies out there. I know this because I have paid the money, got the job done and now enjoy higher search engine rankings. I know that I have made the right choices, but I have not made uniformed ones.
For the longest time, I have been following one method to promote my websites. Basically, what I have been doing is promoting the main page through forums, blog posts, web directories and social marketing, but I have been neglecting deep links to my site.
A deep link is a link to an inner page of your site. For example, promoting the page that has this blog post on it, I would be getting deep links. The benefit here is that search engines can tell that you are obviously promoting your site if all the links point to your main page. If there are links sprinkled amongst all your pages it looks more natural and can help you with your rankings.
I have found a general directory or two that do accept deep links, but most of these only offer a deep linking option on paid listings, not free ones. If you have a marketing budget that is okay, but for those of you that do not, it is not an option.
Another option besides using a links directory is blog commenting. Most blogs allow you to specify a website for your comments, and this is where you should be using a page of your site, not just the main page. You will find that this method works great, and can give you good targeted traffic if you comment on pages that are related to your site.
Be sure to promote all pages of your site and don’t make the same mistakes I did by neglecting the promotion of my inner pages. Look for web directories and blogs that allow you to make comments - these are the easiest places to promote the inner pages of your site.
I have setup a schedule for what I do on each day for each of my sites. Most of the weekdays I create content for my blogs and other sites I am working on. I decided early on that I was going to take the weekends off from writing and focus on promoting my sites.
This weekend I started off my day reading some marketing articles - not only do they give me inspiration, but they also keep me informed of new marketing avenues. After my daily read, I continued to submit my sites to web directories.
To speed up the submission of my sites to a web directory, I have been using some form filling software. This speeds up the process immensely as I don’t have to re-type everything each time.
Well, I should get back to it. I have quite a few websites to promote and I try to submit each one to about 20 directories - I have a long day ahead of me.
Have you ever purchased text link ads for your website? If you have, you must realize that it takes a large amount of time to get these types of relationships setup. Not only do you have to make initial contact, but you have to spend a lot of time finding sites that would be interested in having your ad on their page. What if I told you there is an easier way to do it. Would you be interested?
Well if you made it here, I bet you are. Let me share a little program that just started recently with you called TNX.net. What they offer is a text link marketplace where you can buy links to promote your site.
How much does it cost?
Not a whole lot. For as little as $20.00 you can buy links on over 15,000 pages. So do you think it is reasonable? You bet.
Speaking about a cash investment you don’t really need one. If you want to try out the program without spending any money, they have a special offer to try out their text link program. Click the link in the previous sentence to try it out.
If you want to promote your site for free, you can join their affiliate program and get paid when your affiliates either buy or sell advertising. This can be a great way to fund your advertising program or even to put some extra money in your pocket. Try them out, it’s free, and I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
I came across a free webdirectory today that is new. I mean, really new. In fact, the site was just launched yesterday.
They have a dedicated editor, and my site listing was approved in just one day. I would suggest checking the site out:
My goal for all of my websites is simple: make some money. In order to make money with a website, your site needs some quality, targeted traffic. A search engine is a good provider of the money-making traffic ? but there are many other webmasters out there with the same goal as me ? ranking well in the search results on the search engines.
What sets one webmaster apart from another in terms of search engine ranking is their skills at SEO optimization.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the art of tweaking your webpages so that your site will be ranked higher in the search results on the search engines. Notice that I called it an art ? there are skills and techniques that you combine together (think of combining paint on a canvas ? you have painting) in order to get your website ranked well in those search results.
In an effort to improve my SEO skills, I came across a great SEO tutorials resource that improved my skillset in terms of search engine optimization. The blog where I found it, DNSeo, teaches you those important skills in getting your site noticed. The tutorials cover a broad range of topics and skill levels, and are written in plain English.
Poking around the site, I was surprised to find Free WordPress themes. What do these have to do with the site? Well, most of the themes were designed with the expectation of showing Adsense ads on the site ? if someone clicks on the ad, you make money. They look very professional done and reduce the time it takes you to lauch a new blog - which gives you time to make even more sites (and more money).
A big thank you to the webmaster of DNSeo.net ? most people are not willing to share their secrets or the tools that they use to succeed online ? but they did.
