Most of us these days are worried about saving money. We are taking advantage of sales, using coupons and looking for extra ways to save more money. Any money you can save on the things that you buy most often is beyond doubt to your benefit.

Everybody shops for foodstuff and groceries and that includes individual things like shampoo and soap and clean-up things like dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent. It is simple to find coupons for these items and capitalizing on the best savings as you use them is certainly to your benefit.

One key is taking the rules and breaking them. Not without authorization of course, but if you don’t ask the question you’ll never know and if you do ask the question you might end up opportunely surprised while the worst that can happen is they say “no”. Here are a a small number of constructive questions that you can ask the managers where you shop that may end up saving you quite a bit of money.

Ask about in store coupons. Does the store offer its own coupons? Many stores have websites and you can continually check that out but if they don’t have a website just ask the question. If they do offer coupons they will be happy to give them to you and if they don’t you just gave them a notable suggestion to bring in more business.

Ask if you can use the coupons on sale or clearance items. Many times a store will not let you use coupons on sale items and it will be spelled right out on the coupon but infrequently you will find a store that will allow you to use a coupon on sale priced items and that will save you a bundle.

Ask if they will recognize competitor’s coupons. Many stores offer a price guarantee that says if you find a competitors ad with a lower price they will respect the lower price but few individuals actually ask if they will take the other stores coupons and usually they will say yes as it is in their best interest to do so.

Ask if you can use numerous coupons or if you can combine manufacturers coupons with the store coupons. Many times they will allow you to combine coupons and when you do you double up your savings. You can also ask if they will accept expired coupons. They may say “no” but they may say “yes” and you never know until you ask.

Ask the store If they will accept competitor’s coupons. Most stores offer some type of a price assurance that offers you the lower price if you see the item advertised at a lesser price but many people don’t even ask about competitors coupons. It’s in their best interest to say “yes” to this request so ask the question.
