Most of the young gentlemen out there have somewhat dreamt of becoming an NFL player. But among these high percentages of young hopefuls, only a little fraction of them make it to the end. But before losing your hopes, here are some guidelines; and who knows, you might be one of those lucky guys to complete that little fraction.

Be a good student. Before hatching the eggs, first go back to the reality and do well in your studies. Although you can be an NFL player if you are still an undergrad, there is a survey that those guys who earned a degree were paid 20% to 30% higher compared to others who didn’t earn a degree. There are so many explanations why is that so, but indeed, education is one vital aspect of being a successful NFL player.

Education is not just the key. So you are able to keep you grades up. But that is just one factor. The rest depends on physical abilities, sportsmanship and self discipline. And here’s a detailed explanation for them.

Be Healthy. Eating a well balanced diet is not enough. You should also undergo trainings and exercises to help build your stamina. Though not necessary, you can opt to seek a sports nutritionist’s advice to know what’s the best diet and workout for you.

Being a True sportsman. This is a very important factor that every player should remember. In playing football specifically, where being physical is always a part of the game, each player should learn to handle the intensity by trying to be calm in most cases and keep in mind that it’s just a game and do not take it personally against their opponent.

Being well-disciplined. Aside from being disciplined with your body and inside the field, this discipline we’re talking about is how a player lives his life off the field. Is he a good citizen in their community? Does he have any charitable involvements? Aside from these, indeed there are so many other things to consider if an individual is truly disciplined or not.

So there are the hints. Surely, there are many motives why these young gentlemen dream of becoming an NFL star.

One obvious reason is this.

NFL players are thought to be one of the highest paid individuals on earth. Yes they may be earning a lot, but actually, not as much as what most people think. The starters usually are paid higher compared to the backups. Also, salary depends if he’s a rookie or a veteran player. It also depends on how much of the portion the team’s salary cap is allotted for you. And so many other factors that an NFL team considers. But surely, not all NFL players are millionaires.

And now you know the truth. So what? It’s still a good profession to pursue. So you pursue with your dream, but unfortunately didn’t make it. Will I lose hope and shift to another career?

If you still want to be a part of the NFL, you can try pursuing your career for each team’s front office by being one of their staffs. You can also take into consider being a scouts agent, sports announcer, photographers, or any job that would drive you nearest to the NFL world.

But at the end, whether you make it to the NFL or not, it is in fact, always important to take care of your studies, be healthy, and have a good reputation. In wherever direction you will go, these are the essentials you should always keep on your mind- so you can get a well-paying job in the future and make a name for yourself later on.
