Now, many of us get movie rentals on a regular basis. Often we will wait for the DVD rentals to hit the stores, in preference to watching films at the movie theaters. Here is a short list of some of most heavily rented DVD’s in Oct. 2008.

Another new avenue for aquiring movies is movie downloads. You can find websites that will provide virtually every movie made downloaded. This is very useful if you’re trying to make a large movie collection.

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana is back in action, after a 19 year hiatus. This is the fourth movie in the Indiana Jones movies. In this episode Mr. Jones takes on the Russians. The Soviets are looking for the Crystal Skulls, which are thought to have secret powers.

THE LAZARUS PROJECT: Former criminal Ben Garvey has turned his life completely around. With a stable home, and steady work, things are pretty darn good. Then, he unexplicably loses his steady paycheck, and he goes back to his old criminalistic ways. His criminal rebirth is a complete bust, and he winds up on death row. He is sent to die. To his surprise, he isn’t dead, but is in a mental hospital. He now is in a battle for his sanity, and his spritual well being.

LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon is a veteran boarder patrolman in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. Soon his past is coming back to haunt him. He was a member of a viscious L.A. gang, before final breaking away. When When a chance meeting exposes his whereabouts to his old gang, he finds himself in grave danger. He has no choice but to take a chance, and ensure that the gang can get a huge illegal drug delivery into the country.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie is about Dr. Bruce Banner, who has become the green Hulk. This feature film is about the comic legend, the Hulk. Key cast members are Edward Norton, Tim Roth and Liv Tyler. This film is directed by Louis Leterrier. The film style is sci-fi/action-thriller.

DECEPTION: Audiitor for the elite, Jonathan McQuarry has an unusual meeting with corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. This is a meeting that changes his life forever. He is introduced to “The List”, where people find a decadent sexual extasy. Sadly, he is also led into a treacherous game of back stabbing and murder.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a mission to discover what happened to his missing brother, professor Trevor Anderson explores caves in Iceland that leads him to the center of the earth. This is another version of the original 1959 movie, that was formed from the classic work by renowned author Jules Verne. Cast includes Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutchinson, Anita Briem, and Seth Myers.

THE HAPPENING: Science teacher Elliot Moore, with his wife and many other frightened people are leaving Philadelphia by train. The northeastern U.S. has been thrown into chaos. Many people are being overcome by an unusual force, and are dying at their own hands. Can we find the solution, or is this the last stand of humans on Earth?

IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogal, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is taken hostage by Afghan fighters. He is instructed to build missiles for the insurgent group. He sustained injuries while he was being captured, and has metal in his chest. To overcome his wound, and escape his captors, he designs a suit of armor, that makes him super strong. We have a new comic book super hero on the scene.

SPEED RACER: An anime-cartoon gets real actors. Similar to the film The Flinstones, Speed Racer chages a cartoon into a feature film with actors. Young Speed Racer who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a major rally car race that had taken the life of his older brother. With odds against him, and the future of the family business at risk, Speed Racer teams with his arch rival Racer X, in a last ditch effort to give himself a chance to win, and keep his families racing business alive.
