Teaching a Seminar on Debt Management

Posted By Misty Mountain on July 31, 2008 @ 3:18 pm

One of the roles of the found myself performing in my adult life is that of a teacher.  As it turns out, I have a knack for public speaking and I am sharing that talent with the world.

Specifically, I’ve started teaching a seminar on debt management for the public and the response has been very positive.  I have not only seen success stories flooding in but I’ve also had many people thank me for changing their lives.

The seminar that I teach is four hours long and covers topics such as how to reduce credit card debt and what exactly debt diet plans do for you.  The principal goal of these seminars is to both educate the attendees as well as help them to avoid having to go through poor credit debt consolidation.

Later on this year I am going to try to take a seminar on the road and see if there is interest in other communities for the knowledge that I present.  I’m sure it will go well and I’m looking forward to that working holiday.

Going in Circles

Posted By Misty Mountain on July 30, 2008 @ 7:36 pm

When I was looking into deed polls, I did not even know where to start and as I called around to some different companies, it got no better. It did not seem like anyone understood what I was looking for and I kept getting more and more frustrated at the whole process.

One company that I called started spouting off the HR policies to me and I could not get through to them that I was not looking for a job, but I was looking for some information about changing the name of my business. It was like pulling teeth trying to get answers from anybody.

I found like I had hit the jackpot when I finally was able to get in contact with someone who offered to send me the business forms that I needed to proceed. I felt like sending the girl flowers. I hope that I never have to deal with something like this again.

The Best Place to Go for a Holiday

Posted By Misty Mountain on July 29, 2008 @ 2:18 pm

I find a lot of people will go for holidays in basically the same locations as everyone else.  Instead of having a mind of their own and being a little bit adventurous, they just take the safe route.

But I would suggest that he should step out of your comfort zone and try something new.  In fact, there are many cheap holidays available at other locations around the world that you have never been and they offer the opportunity for you to grow as an individual.

If you need a place to start, a great location that I bet you’ve never heard of is Icmeler Turkey.  They have amazing beaches, wonderful food, and a great atmosphere for you to relax in.  What makes it even better is that there are many cheap flights to Turkey, so the trip will be rather inexpensive.

So the next time that you’re taking a vacation take a step out of your comfort zone and visit one of the best places to go for a holiday: Turkey.

Comparing Hotel Deals in Vegas

Posted By Misty Mountain on July 28, 2008 @ 7:19 pm

I’ve always been a fan of comparison shopping and I make sure that I compare prices even when I’m traveling.  This can be even more important when you are away from home as quite often you can find your trip becoming more expensive for each day that passes.

What I like to do before I go on a trip is go online and do a little comparison on hotel rates.  Say for example, you were going to Las Vegas.  You would go online and see if you can find as many Las Vegas hotel deals as possible.  You would then take those deals and compare them side by side to make sure that you get the best rate.

Perhaps the MGM Grand promotion codes offer you a better deal on your night stay but you might still have to pay full price for breakfast.  On the other hand, the Mirage promotion codes might have a slightly more expensive room rate but breakfast is included.

Thankfully, you can find those information online and compare the hotel deals from the many Las Vegas hotels.  If you’re smart and do this, chances are he won’t have to pay full price for any night that you are there.

Thankful for my Sister

Posted By Twyla on @ 11:01 am

My sister and her husband took their kids to Disney World during their Christmas break last year and when we mentioned that we had been thinking about taking out kids this year, they were really helpful about obtaining Walt Disney World tickets.

Val sent me an email about how they had acquired their tickets and there was a place in right in the email where I could click for more info. I thought it was really nice of them to be helping us out so much and I was thankful to have someone to talk to about the trip that had done it before.

If they had not given us the Hopper tickets information, we never would have even known about them and the trip would have cost us a lot more. They will never know how much their advice meant to us and how much easier it made the trip on us.

Convenient Car and Home Insurance Shopping

Posted By Misty Mountain on July 21, 2008 @ 2:47 pm

One of my favorite things about the Internet is the level of convenience that it gives us to do things from home or from wherever we may be.  We no longer have to leave home to do such things as grocery shopping, movie renting and even getting a home insurance quote.

In fact, that is now how I shop around for all my insurance needs.  Why go out and take the time to drive around to the many different insurance brokers and stand there to give them my information for my car insurance or whatever insurance product I am looking for.  For me, I just don’t have the time to do that – but by using the computer it is much less of a problem.

No matter what time of day it is, I can have the opportunity to shop around when I want to without ever having to leave the home or having to drag the kids along with me.  All I do is just search for "home insurance Ontario" and I can browse through the results and get the quotes I need.

From there, when I have a chance, I can compare quotes and make a decision – did I tell you that I love the Internet?

I Love My Zune

Posted By Twyla on @ 9:11 am

As I live and breathe for music, it seemed like it was the end of the world when my Zune dock cable quit working. It seemed like a life or death situation for me to find another one and I needed to do it very quickly. I could not find any in the town where I live and I was forced to look and order one off of the Internet. I got a really great price, but the problem was that I was going to have to wait for it. I did not know how I was going to survive with a CD player for a few weeks.

The day the package came was one of the happiest of my life. I had my Zune car charger plugged in all the way to the post office. I was really happy when I saw that they had thrown in a Zune travel charger for free. I love free things almost as much as I love my Zune.

Late Night Research

Posted By Misty Mountain on July 20, 2008 @ 11:41 pm

I have been working for the same company for many years, and I am getting tired of it.  Sure, the pay is okay and so are the benefits, but I want to have the opportunity to retire early – something that will not happen at my current job.

So, a number of years ago, I decided that I would try to start a business online.  After a number of failed attempts, I was very discouraged, and gave up on it.  It wasn’t until this year that my interest in making money online was rekindled.

You see, I learned of a free Internet marketing opportunity that showed you step-by-step how to succeed online.  Obviously, that is exactly what I needed as what I had done up to this point just wasn’t working.

So, I am still watching the training videos, but what I have seen so far makes sense – maybe I will be able to retire early after all.

Going From Scared to Embarrassed

Posted By Twyla on July 17, 2008 @ 6:45 pm

I lost my son in the Home Depot today. It was the scariest thing that I had ever gone through in my life. I was looking at the electric showers and he was standing right beside me. I had stopped to ask one of the clerks a question and when I turned around, he was gone.

I called for him and when he didn’t answer, I panicked. I was searching all of the shower cubicles, calling his name. The employees were looking for him as well and I was almost ready to call the police. I was not thinking clearly and I was being irrational.

I ran past the showers and that is when I saw him. He was sitting on a toilet doing his business. I was mortified. The toilet was a display and by the look on his face, I knew that it was not going to be a pleasant mess to clean up.

I was so relieved to see him and know that he was alright, but I do not think I will ever be able to show my face in the store again.

Learning About LASIK Surgery

Posted By Misty Mountain on July 16, 2008 @ 11:43 am

When I decided to look into what the LASIK prices were, I did not know that I had so much to learn about the procedure. I figured that the only decision that I would have to make was whether or not to do it, not knowing that there were different types of the procedure.

I made an appointment with a LASIK Doctor to discuss how the procedure worked and whether or not that it was going to be right for me.  Thankfully, the doctor explained to me and showed me some pictures of how the procedure worked, the side effects, and what to expect when it was all done.  It was a good presentation, and I was able to understand it right away.

I decided to go ahead and make an appointment for LASIK laser eye surgery, as it turned out that it would out very well for me and fit my budget.  I just can’t wait to get rid of my glasses once and for all.
