Better than Bankruptcy

I have always been proud of my ability to take care of my finances.  I figured that once I moved out of my parents house, that I should be responsible enough to take care of my own needs, and no longer depend on my parents for money.

A couple of years ago, I just about turned to my parents for help.  I had a period where I couldn’t find work, but the bills kept piling up to the point where I was in big trouble.  In fact, I was looking at having to go bankrupt if I didn’t figure something out quickly.

A good friend of mine at the time suggested I look into bill consolidation to get my bills under control.  I had never heard of it before and I made an appointment to talk to someone about it.

As it turns out, it was one of the best decisions that I made in my life.  I was able to get everything under control, find a job, and not have to ask my parents for help.  I just feel good knowing that I was able to take control and remain independent from them.
