Having just purchased my first self storage facility, I found myself with many questions and not a whole lot of answers.  What I really didn’t know was what my responsibility was in terms of the articles that we were storing, as well as I really had no idea what would be a good way to run the business.

I tried to find a mentor that would be able to guide me in running a successful self storage facility.  Sadly, none of the owners that I talked to had the time or interest in helping me, their competition.

I turned to the Internet to see if I could find something that would be just as good as having a mentor.  I came across a site that had a self storage owner podcast that shared the secrets of the business.  I listened to a couple of them and realized that I had stumbled on a gold mine.

So, I continue to listen to the podcasts in an attempt to learn how to run my operation more smoothly.  So far, it has worked.
