I never actually thought that I would be in college. It is not a big thing in our family for someone to further their education past high school and my parents could never afford to send us anyway. But, here I am, twenty-seven years old and working on my very first college termpaper.

I decided that I would get student loans and go to school. My life was going absolutely nowhere and I had good grades in high school. I know the right thing for me to do was to go to college. In high school, I actually enjoyed writing research papers and I really missed the classroom setting.

I am excited about all of the term papers that I have coming up and I spend most of my time in the library. I really feel as though my life has a purpose again, and even though my parents are not impressed with my decision, I will make them proud in the end. I will be the first in my family with a University degree.
