Taking Freedom of Speech a Little Too Far

I am sure that you have seen a variety of personalized bumper stickers. There are some very cute ones out there, but there are also some very vulgar and disturbing ones. I get nervous when my son tries to read them. He is just beginning to read and he reads everything from billboards to road signs. So, bumper stickers are no exception.

The worst was when we were traveling on our vacation last month. We were stopped at a service station so my daughter could use the rest room. Parked beside us was a truck that had the crudest window stickers I have ever seen. There were words on them that made me blush and I am a grown woman. I just prayed that my son would not notice them. Those were some words that I did not want to hear him sound out.

Across the front of the same truck was vehicle windshield lettering with another offensive saying. When the young man came out from the station, I shook my head in disgust. He then gave me some rude hand gestures and drove off. But then, I would not expect anything less from him. I think we take freedom of speech a little bit too far.
