Talk About Cheap Electronics From India At Interweb

Posted By Misty Mountain on February 14, 2008 @ 1:03 pm

There are a number of forums that I am a member of that I like to participate in the conversation.  You can find me online discussing everything from cooking to computers – there are a broad number of topics that I am interested in.

I participate the most at a mobile forum talking about the latest gadgets that are on the market.  All I can say is that I am a big fan of these “toys” and have found myself buying them on a consistent basis.

They are not cheap.

Now, I have been trying to find a better place to buy these gadgets online – something that would let me buy more without breaking the bank.

While on the forums the other day, someone was talking about a store called “Gadget India” where they buy all their electronics – at low prices.  Intrigued, I checked out the India gadget store, and I was surprised at the pricing – not only would I save more, but I could buy more gadgets with the money I saved.

So, I have placed an order – and if the transaction goes well, I think I will be buying more gadgets from India.  If not for the forums I participate, I would never have found the opportunities I have.

Going Above and Beyond

We are taking our two children to Disney World during their Easter vacation break from school. They do not know about it yet, and I am trying to wrap up all loose ends before we leave. Things such as car rental Orlando companies needed to be contacted and arrangements needed to be made for us to have a car.

It had been easy booking a hotel for our stay and we found an all inclusive one that would suit our family’s needs just fine, but booking an Orlando car rental proved to be a bit more difficult. Yet, I am determined to do it before we leave.

I actually called the hotel and asked for suggestions. They were really good about giving me information on some car rentals Orlando. The girl I talked to seemed more than happy to help me out and she actually offered to make some arrangements for me and said she would call back with a confirmation number. Now, that is what I call service.

Starting a Car Rental Company Not For Me

Posted By Twyla on February 9, 2008 @ 7:10 pm

While I was in Europe, I was amazed by the number cheap car hire Spain companies that I saw. I thought it must be very profitable for there to be so many of them and I wondered at all the competition and how they actually made money at it when there was a car available for you on every corner.

I was even more amazed when I saw the same type of cheap car hire France. I had originally thought it was maybe something that was unique to Spain, but I actually found them all throughout Europe. It got me to asking all sorts of questions. Some were answered and some were not.

What it really made me think about was whether there was a market for cheap car hire back in the Americas. When I got home, I did some research about different car rental companies and it ended up that it would not be a good business venture for me.

Free Phone and Free Music

I don’t know how familiar you are with Blackberry ring tones, but I am becoming more and more so. I recently won a Blackberry through a radio contest, and having never been the owner of a cell phone before, I have not stopped playing with the thing since I got it.

The ring tones are what I like to play with the most. I am not a real social person, so do not get many calls, but I play around with the ring tones every day. As I also won a contract with a phone company, I have been using Verizon ring tones as well. I have a lot now, to keep me entertained.

I like to download MP3 ring tones and listen to them. My husband jokes that I would have been just as happy winning a cheap MP3 player, as I am with the cell phone. He is wrong though, because I have already had two, yes two, phone calls. Call me a social butterfly.

Protecting My Baby – My Truck

Posted By Misty Mountain on February 8, 2008 @ 10:15 am

I was looking around the other day, while I was driving, and I was surprised to see how many truck covers there were on the vehicles parked along particular streets. I am not sure if this is a new fad, or if it is something that I have just not been too observant about up until now.

One thing I knew, though, is whether it was a fad or not, I needed to get one for my truck. I have a really nice truck and I am always looking for ways to protect it. I do have a few Attitude Hitch covers, but I thought a full truck cover would be a good investment.

What I found is that I really liked the Budge truck covers. They had exactly what I was looking for and the price was very reasonable as well. When I decide to do something, it takes a lot to get me to change my mind, so I went ahead and ordered one.

Researching My Future

I am looking for information on a 401k plan for myself. I know the information is easy to come by, but I am the type of person who likes to be very informed about this kind of thing. I get tons of information before I make a decision and I want information about everything surrounding a 401k plan.

For instance, I want to know what the repercussions are if I was to decide to do an early 401k withdrawal. I know that there are penalties for this sort of thing and I am curious to find out all about these penalties and what would be gained or lost from doing this.

I also want to know what my 401k max contributions would be for one year, so I could decide how much I was going to contribute each month. Like I said, I want to be informed about everything and if I keep asking questions, I will be.

Wanting an iPhone in Canada – Getting Impatient

Posted By Twyla on February 6, 2008 @ 7:47 pm

I have been hearing about so much iPhone news lately and it is starting to drive me crazy. I am absolutely in love with my iPod and I love anything to do with Mac computers. I would say that I am a die hard fan and I have yet to be disappointed in any product that I have purchased.

My cousin from California tells me about all of the coolest iPhone games. It sounds amazing and I just want a little taste of it, but I can’t and it sucks. I just know that my collection would be complete if I just had an iPhone.

The fact that I already own some iPhone accessories may make me sound like a loser, but I am patiently, or should I say, very impatiently awaiting the day that I will have my own iPhone. I am an addict, but I am Canadian and they are not available here yet!

Essential Landlord Task: Finding Good Tenants

Posted By Misty Mountain on @ 12:32 pm

Perhaps one of the most essential tasks for a landlord is to find qualified tenants.  If there are no tenants, there would be no point to have a rental property (or a landlord), right?

In some respects, doing a tenant check is much like checking out an applicant before a job interview.  Basically the landlord is making sure that this potential tenant is a qualified renter.  It is an attempt to make sure that the potential tenant will pay their rent on time, take care of their unit, and be a good addition to the rental community.

Quite often the landlord calls each tenant reference and makes sure that the stories portray the person as reliable and dependable.  Great attention is paid to whether or not the references provide consistent stories about the potential tenant – if their stories are not consistent, chances are there could be problems.

The result is that the landlord meets the tenant when they come to apply and has the stories from the references.  At this point they need to make a decision as to whether or not they would be a valuable addition to their rental community.  Though they might not get it right all the time, every good tenant they move into the property they manage, the easier their job gets – so there is some good incentive for them to find good ones.

Proud To Be Canadian

Posted By Twyla on February 5, 2008 @ 9:16 am

I have recently moved to Canada from Europe and I am going today for my Canadian Immigration Interview. I am very nervous, as I never want to leave this great country again. It has fast become my home and I have found the people here to be very friendly and welcoming.

I did a citizenship practice test and I did very well on that. It just makes me a lot more nervous having to actually go in front of someone and talk to them. It is like being in school all over again, and I was intimidated back then. I have been told many times, by many people not to worry, but I just can’t help it.

I am doing my G1 practice test this afternoon, as well. I am not too nervous about this, as tests really do not scare me much. I am going into the whole process with my head held high and a smile on my face. I am sure I will come out with that same smile on my face. After all, this is Canada-the land of the free.
