I have a learning disability called dyslexia. I find that symptoms of dyslexia are often misunderstood. People with this disability are often labeled as stupid, which is not the case at all. And, in fact, until I did tests for dyslexia and was diagnosed, I also thought of myself as stupid.
My whole outlook on myself and life in general became a lot clearer when I was diagnosed and had a teaching counselor explain the symptoms of dyslexia as well as the treatments of the disability. I was also amazed to see how much help is available to those who want it.
I have become a new person with a whole new outlook on life. For the first time, I read a novel just because I wanted to and made it through without too many problems.
